My girls are the reason I do 75% of what I do. I won't lie. I am a driven person, so some is for me. I really am in love with my husband, so some is for him. The majority though, for my girls.
They deserve it!
God gifted me these little ladies to lead and take care, and that is what I intend to do with the energy that pumps through my veins!
Some may call me the "Mama Bear" type. I have no shame in that label. Our world is at a point where I feel we need to do all we can to stand up and protect our children. They are not strong enough to hold their own shields, it's our duty to assist!
My bonus daughter, Hayley, is an amazing soul. She is incredibly calm. She has a heart that craves peace. She is more aware of what is going on and we are very open with her since she is 15 years old. She joins us on many of our adventures: political experiences, religious exploration, supporting our business focuses, etc. How will she grow into a strong, focused adult if we over shelter her?
My daughter, McKenna, is a spirited girl. She has more energy than Mom, Dad, and Hayley combined. It isn't just because of her 3 year old age either. She is curious about everything. She craves learning. She has a memory like no other! She is a child I am excited to watch grow, because she has a bright future ahead. There is no doubt!
Hayley chooses to go to a public school. We honor her decision. I can think back to being that age and I know that I would have been devastated if my parents had ripped me out during my high school years. We keep very open communication about what she's learning, about experiences happening, and try to lead her in a way to know what's right and wrong.
McKenna is only three, but as I said she craves learning! We kicked off homeschooling preschool this year. Mom has taken the lead, but Dad steps up and helps a couple times a month if I have meetings or appointments. We aren't sure if this is the forever plan, but we know if things don't change drastically, public school isn't in the options list for her future.
I am FAR from perfect with this homeschooling experience, BUT I am all about helping others with my own journey. I created a "highlights" tab on my Instagram (@jennadicksusa) labeled "Home School" to help other families! Us Moms need to stick together! <3
